Carousel Includes:

Drive: Continuous rotation, about 0.143 RPM, via chain on outside diameter or caterpillar drive, AC drive and 3x480VAC motor, allowing cycle times of 6-8 minuttes per revolution

Center Column: Hot Water Distribution via rotary union on top of column. Air passage routed through the bottom of the column. CAD drawings are available.

Mold Carriers: Max. Mold size is 43” wide x 39.5” deep x 19” high (Daylight of carriers is 20”) Clamping force: 9 tons, via air bags pushing mold against lid. Min. vertical travel of lower platen: 1” (to clear locater pins). CAD drawings are available. We do have frame and equipment that allows easy mold change off-line

Mold Closing: Chain driven closing station. (New chains installed, about 500 working hours ago)

Turntable: Turntable accomodates 30 mold carriers, allowing access to center of carouselat two opposite locations. Outside support of turntable via inverted rollers.

Mold Recognition: Via RF tags, ESCORT MEMORY SYSTEMS HMS-150-HT

Ventilation: At mold prep station: Via vent hood and two exhaust fans, 6600 CFM each. At pour station: Via flex duct and 1exhaust fan, 6600 CFM

Metering System and Robot:
Four Streams: 2 ISO amd 2 Polyol, 40-150 g/s for each stream (2 independant formulations)

Tanks: Two 30 gal ISO tanks, jacketed, no agitation. Two 30 gal Polyol tanks, jacketed, with agitator, about 90 RPM. Automatic refill: Tanks are equipped with level probes and fill valves. Safety levels: Independant probes for alarm and shutting off supply valve on hi.

Heat Exchangers: ISO: Shell and tube on return line and before pump. H.P. heat exch before mixhead. Polyol: Shell and tube on return line. Plate heat exchanger before pump. H.P. heat exch before mixhead. Chiller unit has 10 Ton freon R22 compressor. Heating unit has 68kW in-line heaters and two additional heater tanks.

Pumps: No feed pumps, tanks are pressurized instead. 4 metering pumps, REXROTH A2VK12-SO2, each equipped with sealless magnetic drive.

Filters: High Pressure filter after the metering pump, stainless steel mesh. 75 microns for ISO, 150 microns for Polyol.

Mixing Head: Double L with barrel diameter 12 mm. V-shaoed impingment. We do have one newly rebuilt spare head.

Calibration: Flowmeters: Each stream has in-line AW flowmeter, open loop.

Controls: Variable speed drives for both ISO pumps, open loop. Electrical cabinet to be full size, 6 ft. high, disconnect in flange cabinet. Shot timers between 0 and 10 seconds, in 0.01 second increments. Process control: ALLEN BRADLEY SLC 5/04 with Panelview 1000. Datalogging: Automatic recording of all parameters and safeted onto MS-Excel.

Hydraulics: 3000 PSI

Robot: MOTOMAN UP130-XRC Program selection via RF tags positioned on mold carriers. RF tags and reader: Type ESCORT MEMORY SYSTEMS HMS-150-HT
